Tuesday's Joyful Shout (John 13:5-9)

New theme continues today. Look for the recurring word in the scripture and song. Also, the adjacent visual gives it away.

5 After that, He poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples’ feet, and to wipe them with the towel with which He was girded. 6 Then He came to Simon Peter. And Peter said to Him, “Lord, are You washing my feet?”
7 Jesus answered and said to him, “What I am doing you do not understand now, but you will know after this.”
8 Peter said to Him, “You shall never wash my feet!”
Jesus answered him, “If I do not wash you, you have no part with Me.”
9 Simon Peter said to Him, “Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head!”

Wednesday's Joyful Shout (Deut. 32:28-38)

Praise God! Randall Schuckman of Denver won this week's A Joyful Shout by guessing the Theme of the Week: Christ Is the Rock. He'll receive an autographed CD from a top Contemporary Christian Music artist. Many Blessings & Much Joy to Randall and to all. Look forward to playing again next week.

In the meantime, here is today's A Joyful Shout:

28 “For they are a nation void of counsel,
Nor is there any understanding in them.

29 Oh, that they were wise, that they understood this,
That they would consider their latter end!

30 How could one chase a thousand,
And two put ten thousand to flight,
Unless their Rock had sold them,
And the LORD had surrendered them?

31 For their rock is not like our Rock,
Even our enemies themselves being judges.

32 For their vine is of the vine of Sodom
      And of the fields of Gomorrah;
Their grapes are grapes of gall,
      Their clusters are bitter.

33 Their wine is the poison of serpents,
And the cruel venom of cobras.

34Is this not laid up in store with Me,
      Sealed up among My treasures?

 35 Vengeance is Mine, and recompense;
      Their foot shall slip in due time;
For the day of their calamity is at hand,
And the things to come hasten upon them.’

36 “For the LORD will judge His people
And have compassion on His servants,
When He sees that their power is gone,
And there is no one remaining, bond or free.

37 He will say: ‘Where are their gods,
The rock in which they sought refuge?

38 Who ate the fat of their sacrifices,
And drank the wine of their drink offering?
Let them rise and help you,
And be your refuge. (Deuteronomy 32:28-38, New King James Version)

Tuesday's Joyful Shout (Living Water)

Massive clue to this week's theme is in this image. Be the first to guess it and win an autographed CD, book or T-shirt.

13 Jesus answered and said to her, “Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, 14 but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.”
(John 4:13-14, New King James Version)

1 Then the children of Israel, the whole congregation, came into the Wilderness of Zin in the first month, and the people stayed in Kadesh; and Miriam died there and was buried there.
2 Now there was no water for the congregation; so they gathered together against Moses and Aaron. 3 And the people contended with Moses and spoke, saying: “If only we had died when our brethren died before the LORD! 4 Why have you brought up the assembly of the LORD into this wilderness, that we and our animals should die here? 5 And why have you made us come up out of Egypt, to bring us to this evil place? It is not a place of grain or figs or vines or pomegranates; nor is there any water to drink.” 6 So Moses and Aaron went from the presence of the assembly to the door of the tabernacle of meeting, and they fell on their faces. And the glory of the LORD appeared to them.
7 Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, 8 “Take the rod; you and your brother Aaron gather the congregation together. Speak to the rock before their eyes, and it will yield its water; thus you shall bring water for them out of the rock, and give drink to the congregation and their animals.” 9 So Moses took the rod from before the LORD as He commanded him.
10 And Moses and Aaron gathered the assembly together before the rock; and he said to them, “Hear now, you rebels! Must we bring water for you out of this rock?” 11 Then Moses lifted his hand and struck the rock twice with his rod; and water came out abundantly, and the congregation and their animals drank.
12 Then the LORD spoke to Moses and Aaron, “Because you did not believe Me, to hallow Me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore you shall not bring this assembly into the land which I have given them.”
13 This was the water of Meribah, because the children of Israel contended with the LORD, and He was hallowed among them. (Numbers 20:1-13, New King James Version)

A Joyful Shout (Bread from Heaven)

Figuring out this week's theme is sooooo easy. All you have to do is look at this week's accompanying image to the left

32 Then Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, Moses did not give you the bread from heaven, but My Father gives you the true bread from heaven. 33 For the bread of God is He who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.”
34 Then they said to Him, “Lord, give us this bread always.”
35 And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst. (John 6:32-35, New King James Version)

15 You gave them bread from heaven for their hunger,
And brought them water out of the rock for their thirst,
And told them to go in to possess the land
Which You had sworn to give them. (Nehemiah 9:15, New King James Version)

12 Marvelous things He did in the sight of their fathers,
In the land of Egypt, in the field of Zoan.
 13 He divided the sea and caused them to pass through;
And He made the waters stand up like a heap.
14 In the daytime also He led them with the cloud,
And all the night with a light of fire.
15 He split the rocks in the wilderness,
And gave them drink in abundance like the depths.
16 He also brought streams out of the rock,
And caused waters to run down like rivers.

17 But they sinned even more against Him
By rebelling against the Most High in the wilderness.
18 And they tested God in their heart
By asking for the food of their fancy.
19 Yes, they spoke against God:
They said, “Can God prepare a table in the wilderness?
20 Behold, He struck the rock,
So that the waters gushed out,
         And the streams overflowed.
         Can He give bread also?
Can He provide meat for His people?”

Sunday's Joyful Shout (Water from the Rock)

1 Moreover, brethren, I do not want you to be unaware that all our fathers were under the cloud, all passed through the sea, 2 all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea, 3 all ate the same spiritual food, 4 and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them, and that Rock was Christ. 5 But with most of them God was not well pleased, for their bodies were scattered in the wilderness.
(1 Corinthians 10:1-5, New King James Version)

1 Then all the congregation of the children of Israel set out on their journey from the Wilderness of Sin, according to the commandment of the LORD, and camped in Rephidim; but there was no water for the people to drink. 2 Therefore the people contended with Moses, and said, “Give us water, that we may drink.”
So Moses said to them, “Why do you contend with me? Why do you tempt the LORD?”
3 And the people thirsted there for water, and the people complained against Moses, and said, “Why is it you have brought us up out of Egypt, to kill us and our children and our livestock with thirst?”
4 So Moses cried out to the LORD, saying, “What shall I do with this people? They are almost ready to stone me!”
5 And the LORD said to Moses, “Go on before the people, and take with you some of the elders of Israel. Also take in your hand your rod with which you struck the river, and go. 6 Behold, I will stand before you there on the rock in Horeb; and you shall strike the rock, and water will come out of it, that the people may drink.”
And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel. 7 So he called the name of the place Massah and Meribah, because of the contention of the children of Israel, and because they tempted the LORD, saying, “Is the LORD among us or not?” (Exodus 17:1-7, New King James Version)

PRAYER
Eskaros Family: (from Carol) Thank you thank you thank you thank you for praying for us. My mom (Waafa) is finally home with me after a harrowing 48 hours. She had numbness and heaviness on her left side, so stroke was feared and now, finally, ruled out. She had a CT scan, MRI, MRA, coratid doppler, and echo, all between the ER and two different testing facilities in PA. She also had a liter of blood removed, so it has been a WHIRLWIND...

Thank you, Jesus, it was not a stroke, and we continue to pray over her body for relief of these difficult symptoms. You have no idea how much your prayers, calls and notes mean to her and to us. God be glorified.

She will stay with me until tomorrow, just to make sure she's safe, and then she will ease back into regular life over the next several days.

As for me, my white blood cell counts continue to be consistently low w/ repeat testing, and my joints are screaming, but we've moved follow up on that front to the back burner for now, just until we see to my mom, and my kids get a bit more normalcy since Tuesday night's nightmare. They need to simply focus on school and music, and not hospital runs for a few days. Lord willing!

With the rockets raining death and destruction again, we must step forward and help the victims of these latest terrorist attacks. Israel is under attack in the town of Sderot and all along the southern border where terrorists are making life a living hell for the poor Jewish refugees from Russia. Today the UN, the EU, Russia, China and now even the United States are pressuring Israel to give more land to the terrorists, even in east Jerusalem, the same terrorists who are killing Jews today. Gather the kiddies and play "A Joyful Shout" together to guess the Theme of the Week and win a prize. By the way, that's a hint to the theme.

1 At that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, “Who then is greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”
2 Then Jesus called a little child to Him, set him in the midst of them, 3 and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. 4 Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. (Matthew 18:1-4, New King James Version)

34 But they kept silent, for on the road they had disputed among themselves who would be the greatest. 35 And He sat down, called the twelve, and said to them, “If anyone desires to be first, he shall be last of all and servant of all.” 36 Then He took a little child and set him in the midst of them. And when He had taken him in His arms, He said to them, 37 “Whoever receives one of these little children in My name receives Me; and whoever receives Me, receives not Me but Him who sent Me.” (Mark 9:34-37, New King James Version)
